Blockhead Wars

In the ancient lands of Blockheads

Everyone’s shaped the same

So the only way to determine who’s better

Is how they play the game!

Blockhead Wars is a collection of five two-player games.  The S, E, and F keys

control the blockhead on the left, while the arrow keys control the blockhead

on the right.  Though many of the games are self-explanatory and can be learned

easily, this small manual has been included for anyone who would like be

sure how each game works.

Playing a game is very simple: click on the ‘Play’ button at the main menu, select the game of your

choice, decide how many points it will take to win, then click ‘Play this game’.

The game will load and then you will get to choose what color you would like your

blockhead to be, and what color you would like the ball to be.

When you’re finished with that, the game begins!

During your game, you may notice that if the ball hits the belly of a blockhead, it will be

instantaneously transported to their snout.  Because of this, you may want to land on the

ball sometimes, just so you can spit it out in your opponent’s direction.  Also while you play,

the ball may go crazy or pop.  If this happens, you will be immediately informed

and the ball will be reset atop the head of a random blockhead.

If at any time during the game you would like to quit, save the game, play another game,

or just temporarily pause the game, the ESC key can be used.

You may also hit the F1 key for help.

Volley Ball

Like the ordinary game of Volley Ball, the object of this game is to keep the ball away from your

side of the floor.  If the ball hits your side of the floor, your opponent gets a point.

You may hit the ball as many times as you like.  Instead of a net separating the blockheads,

a wooden beam lies between them.

The blockheads may not cross the wooden beam.

Basket Ball

In this game, perhaps the most difficult one, the blockheads will receive points

for getting the ball to pass through their opponent’s hoop.  A point will be given whether the ball goes

up through the hoop or down through the hoop.

The blockheads cannot jump over each other.

Paddle Ball

The ‘paddles’ in this game are the metal boards that lie slanted at the center of the level

and on the walls.  The paddles on the walls will deduct points from the corresponding

blockhead, while the center paddles will give points.

Be careful!  The ball is most likely to go wild and pop during this game.

Bomb Ball

The ball is actually ticking time-bomb in this race against the clock.  A large wooden wall

separates the blockheads.  Each blockhead begins with the same amount of time,

but your time will be ticking if the ball is on your side.  When the ball is on your side of the wall,

get it over to the other side before it’s too late.  If you can’t hit it over the wall,

you can also try ‘squishing’ it through the wall.  When one of the blockheads’

time is up, the bomb will explode and the winner will be determined.

Block Ball

Each blockhead must protect their fifteen boxes, while trying to destroy the boxes

of their opponent.  The first one to run out of boxes will lose.

As soon as a blockhead wins, you will have the option to play a new game,

play the same game again (‘rematch’), or quit to the main menu.
