The Book of Harbringer

I'll probably be adding some more chapters soon... if you're actually reading these rough draft chapters, many thanks!  Hope they're not too dismal.  I'm not doing any editing at all until I finish the rough draft, but if you find any typos or wouldn't mind giving any sort of feedback at all, I'd still love to hear it!  If you email your feedback to sean@wizardwalk.com or, more preferrably since my email is disorganized, post something on my forum under "Writing", I would be in your debt.  If the book ever gets published (probably won't happen, but I have to dream of it while writing to prevent myself from falling into depressed slumber) and your feedback was helpful (something like "I like it!" or "It stinks!" isn't very helpful :-), I will be sure to acknowledge your name in the book, and definitely send a free copy your way.  Yeah, most likely won't happen, but I wouldn't be writing if I wasn't hoping.  Regardless, if you are reading these chapters, I thank you!! :-)

This is the book I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2008.  It's a young adult fantasy adventure novel, as are just about all the novel attempts I have made in my life.  The story is basically about a young prince named Harbringer who returns to the kingdom he was banished from to oust the evil king that has taken over.  (I know it sounds cliche!)  These first three chapters pretty much get the story rolling.  This is of course a rough draft . . . I'm sure there are mistakes and lines that are too corny and such, but my priority is of course actually finishing a complete draft before I worry about editing, and I'm still a long way from finishing a draft.  From my outlines and from what I've written so far, I currently estimate there will be around 45 chapters with around 140,000 words (that's a very rough estimate, of course).  Anyway, here are the first three chapters:
